orientation trip to Palo Alto

went on an orientation tour last Wed to Palo Alto, organised by the Int'l Centre for spouses, intended to highlight places in Palo Alto that we can go to in future.

It was quite a pleasant trip - local hosts drove us to a ice skating rink, Baylands nature reserve, art centre and public library. There was a glass pumpkin exhibition at the art centre - had the opportunity to see glass pumpkins being made - but they are REALLY expensive. The smallest pumpkins were selling at US$25, the largest ones were going for US$1,400!

The Baylands nature reserve was very peaceful and serene. A pity all the places we went to that day are only reachable by car...
